For Investors

    Where Main Street Meets Innovation

Small businesses carry American communities. They employ our neighbors. They anchor our main streets. They build wealth that stays in town.

Fireroad backs the founders building technology so local business can compete in the age of AI. Most of them come from inside the industries they serve. They have run crews, kitchens, clinics, and shops.

Our investors come to us for different reasons. Here is how Fireroad fits each of them.

    For impact investors

Your mission is a thriving local economy. Your investment portfolio can work toward it too.

Small businesses on your main street are often the last to see the best new tools because most innovation is built for large companies in coastal markets. Fireroad bridges that gap. We back founders building relevant technology for the businesses in your community: contractors, childcare centers, manufacturers, and family-run service companies.

The work of Fireroad connects main street to the innovation economy. We want to make it possible for local owners to get new solutions built for how they actually work.

Because local owners have a voice in how we work, your impact investing portfolio and your economic development mission point in the same direction.

Good fit if you are: a community foundation, an economic development organization, a regional impact fund, or a financial institution looking for venture exposure that also supports local economic resilience.

    For small business owners

Your lived experience is rare in the venture capital industry, and we want it at the table, shaping investment decisions. The companies we back are building for businesses like yours.

Owner-investors help us spot the founders who truly understand the work because you know the tools that will shape your industry before they reach the investor market, and you meet other owners thinking about the same questions: technology, succession, and staying independent.

Most owners hold the bulk of their wealth in one place: their own business. Joining Fireroad adds diversification through venture capital, an asset class most owners never access. And this is not a passive bet: your operating experience can shape the outcome. You can pilot products, give founders critical feedback on what customers really need, and open doors in your industry.

This is a way to invest in your own industry's future, and to make sure that future is built by people who respect what you have built.

Good fit if you are: an owner or operator of a local or regional business who wants a seat at the table where small business technology gets funded.

    For family offices

Families that think in generations understand our approach. We build for the long run, and we expect our companies to as well.

    45%

of annual software spending comes from SMBs

    3%

of venture capital goes to startups serving them

SMBs account for 45% of annual software spending, but only 3% of venture capital goes to startups serving them. That gap is our opportunity.

We match capital to the company. Our blended approach complements moonshot equity investments with durable, profitable businesses and creates more than one path back to investors.

Good fit if you are: a single- or multi-family office seeking early-stage exposure with a disciplined manager and unique liquidity strategy.

    Capital as a tool

We treat capital as a tool to create value, not a template to follow. Fireroad invests through equity and revenue-based investment. We choose the instrument that fits the company at the time of the investment.

This expands what counts as an investable business.

Many great companies will never chase a billion-dollar exit, but they grow steadily, earn real profits, and serve customers for decades. Revenue-based deals let us back those companies and stay true to our thesis.

It also changes how capital comes back. Revenue-based investments can return capital as companies grow, not only at an acquisition, which gives our investors more than one path to liquidity.

    More than a check

Our LPs are part of the work, not spectators.

    Annual meeting

Once a year we gather our LPs for a full look at the portfolio, the thesis, and what we are learning in the field.

    Quarterly founder happy hours

Every quarter, LPs and founders get together. You meet the people building the companies, hear what is working, and see the thesis up close.

    Transparent communication

We tell our investors what is working and what is not. LPs receive regular written updates on the portfolio, including the hard parts. We would rather you hear it from us first.
